Congratulations are to ensure that two graduate college students who work within the analysis laboratory of Dr. Rafael Neves, assistant professor of meals animal ambulatory, after they gained awards on the latest Tri-State Dairy Diet Convention.  Held in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the three-day annual occasion is a collaborative effort between Purdue College, Michigan State College, The Ohio State College, and the allied dairy trade.

As a part of the Scholar Presentation Showcase on Monday, April 15, graduate college students from Purdue, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State College, and the College of Wisconsin vied for prizes as much as $2,250 within the MS and PhD divisions. 

Jillian Grantz gained 1st place within the MS division oral competitors for her presentation entitled, “Analysis of the plasma oxylipin and endocannabinoid profile and the platelet and plasma proteome in postpartum dairy cows experiencing elevated systemic irritation.”

Natnicha Taechachokevivat was awarded 2nd place within the PhD pupil oral competitors for her presentation entitled, “The epidemiology of systemic irritation: Associations of plasma haptoglobin within the first week postpartum with illness and milk yield in Holstein cows.”

Jillian and Natnicha efficiently competed in opposition to college students from MSU, OSU, Penn State and Purdue to win awards of their respective classes.  “I’m past happy with them,” commented Dr. Neves.

The Tri-State Dairy Diet Convention primarily serves people who present dietary recommendation to dairy farmers.  Attendees embody feed trade personnel, diet consultants, college school and college students, extension personnel, and veterinarians.
